Those commercials were awesome!

I hear you about running out of freezer space! You saw the comb in my freezer, but I have another nuc full of combs in the dining room. I left space between them so that light and air can get in there and suppress wax moths. Now my house smells like a hive.

Thanks for the interesting article about Persephone! I actually looked up the video on YouTube. What a riot!Julie Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09965401314478095790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1347024209749983628.post-21007058572364948582016-02-22T15:22:38.040-05:002016-02-22T15:22:38.040-05:00Sorry to hear about Persephone, but glad the rest ...Sorry to hear about Persephone, but glad the rest of the girls are doing okay. There was a post on Honey Bee Suite recently about absconding/mites that I thought of when I read about Persephone. (http://www.honeybeesuite.com/did-they-abscond-or-die-from-varroa/). BTW, did you see the recent articles that Persephone was the first Disney princess - not Snow White? (http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/snow-white-wasnt-first-disney-princess-180958043/?no-ist).

I got a kick out of your Honeycomb cereal reference. A good friend of mine was one of the kids in the Honeycomb hideout back in the 70's which I think is way cool. Of course, now I have that song running through my brain!

I've been collecting honeycombs from my deadout hives, putting them in the freezer to kill off varmints for a couple of days and then putting them in a nuc inside a plastic bag to keep new varmints from getting in. But I'm running out of nuc space! For comb to melt down, once they come out of the freezer, I put them in a sealed bucket. I don't think my wife would let me take up that much freezer space all the time! ;-)

I too am looking forward to see how Elsa does!Donhttp://www.buddhaandthebees.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1347024209749983628.post-20197695614956105962016-02-21T11:58:52.723-05:002016-02-21T11:58:52.723-05:00Glad to hear everyone is buzzing along, though sor...Glad to hear everyone is buzzing along, though sorry about Persephone. Hopefully those nasty mites all died in the hive and didn't transfer to a nearby hive.

I'm looking forward to hearing how insulated Elsa does in the spring and summer.Erikhttps://beeswitheeb.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
